Your Comfort Matters: Understanding Tooth Extraction

At our practice, we’re committed to ensuring you feel confident and informed about your tooth extraction procedure. While extracting a tooth is considered minor oral surgery, it’s important to be aware of some inherent risks to the surrounding tissues, which can vary depending on the tooth’s position in your mouth.

Common complications may include damage to adjacent teeth, such as fractures or broken fillings. Regarding upper molars, there’s a possibility of supporting bone fractures, root dislodgement into the sinus, or sinus communication.

Please inform your dentist prior to treatment if you have any coagulation or heart conditions, or if you’re taking medications like bisphosphonates or blood thinners, including aspirin. Should further treatment by an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon or another health practitioner be required, please note that additional costs may apply.

Our dentists carefully select and manage each patient’s treatment to provide the best possible care for your unique situation. We encourage you to discuss any concerns or questions about the procedure with us before proceeding. You have options for treatment under local anaesthesia, sedation, or general anaesthetic in a hospital setting. Please be aware that hospital treatments may incur additional costs.

Your well-being is our top priority, and we’re here to support you every step of the way.
